I am a Lamont Assistant Research Professor and principal investigator of Microbial Evolution and Biogeochemistry Laboratory at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University. My research focuses on determining the physiological responses of marine microbes to past and future climate change. My expertise lies in precisely controlled laboratory culturing techniques including experimental evolution, chemostats, photobioreactors, and manipulation of carbonate chemistry. I additionally use geochemical tools to develop proxies based on microbial biosignatures that record environmental change and biological innovations through Earth history. Prior to joining LDEO, I completed my postdoctoral training at the University of Colorado Boulder after receiving my Ph.D. from the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Harvard University in 2017.
